Edouard Machery du Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh, donnera une conférence intitulée "Doing without Concepts" le 26 février de 15h à 17h dans la salle DS-1950 (Métro Berri-UQAM, pavillon De Sève)
Abstract : In my recent book, Doing without Concepts (OUP, 2009), I have argued that the class of concepts is so heterogeneous that the notion of concept is of little use and should be removed from the theoretical vocabulary of psychology ("the heterogeneity hypothesis"). In this talk, I will quickly review this argument before examining at greater length the objections that have been formulated against the views advanced in Doing without Concepts.
